A Tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

We, the Women Mediators Across the Commonwealth, wish pay tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a truly universal figure.

The global recognition she enjoyed was due to her character, her sense of duty and diplomacy which endeared her to people across the world.

Queen Elizabeth spent her entire life in the public eye and bore witness to decades of change. She proved herself capable of sacrifice, service and adapting to the times, whether embracing technology or cultural shifts, she was an inspiration and an example for many women and leaders around the world.

Her remarks at Dublin Castle in 2011 resonate deeply with us, reminding us of the importance of reconciliation.

“The lessons from the peace process are clear; whatever life throws at us, our individual responses will be all the stronger for working together and sharing the load.”

At a time when it is more important than ever to manage contrasting opinions on historical events, we acknowledge that her passing marks the end of an era and her legacy will live on.
