Fanny Bessem Etong

Fanny Bessem Etong is a gender and conflict mediation specialist with extensive experience in peace negotiations, community-based conflict resolution, and leadership training for women and girls in crisis zones. With a strong background in peacebuilding, gender, and policy analysis, she is dedicated to fostering inclusive peace and amplifying women's voices in decision-making processes.

As the founder of the Young Women Mediators Network Cameroon (YWMC) and Executive Director of FALCOH FOUNDATION, Fanny plays a vital role in supporting women leaders in mediating interethnic conflicts and advocating for gender equality in governance. She also serves as a regional president for the Southwest region and is a key member of the National Women's Peace Convention planning committee in Cameroon, where she works to strengthen grassroots peace initiatives.

Passionate about mentorship, Fanny has trained over 1,000 young women in leadership and negotiation skills through regional workshops. She continues to push for systemic change in peace processes, emphasizing the importance of intersectional and sustainable conflict resolution mechanisms.

Her outstanding contributions to peace and gender advocacy have earned her international recognition, including receiving the German Africa Award 2023.
